Bio:

As a Scout, Ivar began life as a member of a retinue of a medium-level Baron engaged in the usual routine of border wars and raids with troublesome neighbours. Ivar was part of a unit tasked to reconnoiter enemy positions. He did this up to 4th level but had to find alternate employment after the Baron’s nubile daughter mysteriously fell pregnant.

Ivar moved to a distant major town and was employed by a bounty hunter named Havest Gringe. Ivar’s tracking and hiding skills proved useful in locating and then watching targets. Most of his targets were either lovers of partners of clients or errant acolytes/apprentices of senior clerics/wizards engaged in extra-curricular activity. Ivar came of age as it were when he tracked down a low-level spell caster who had stolen a tome of demon summoning and was in the process of trying to summon a major demon when Ivar realised what he was doing and interrupted proceedings with a well aimed arrow and a live goose tossed into the pentagram at a critical moment.

Ivar was the toast of the city for a while and it was at this time he entered into an ill-advised marriage with a Bard named Eloise who dumped him for a bisexual knight named Vivienne and stole Ivar’s prized invisibility ring.

At this point Ivar was 9th level. Feeling hard done by he decided to join up with a knightly order (the order of the broken spear) who were engaged in trying to pacify a tribe of unruly barbarians in the swamps of Frisia. Ivar became adept at navigating his way through fens and bogs and climbed to 12th level.

His downfall occur when he fell foul of a wizard the order hired called Abrogast Creuzfeldt. Abrogast hired Ivar to bring him a live Shambling Mound and promised a flaming short sword as a reward. Ivar delivered, but Abrogast declared the Mound to be sub-standard (too short) and paid Ivar 500gp instead.

Outraged, Ivar decided to loot the wizard’s quarters but was caught by an Invisible Stalker.

When the wizard caught up with him he was teleported and Ivar found himself on a remote island.
